Joaquim may well be correct that Track 2 starts as Conception Vessel – it’s certainly a Motian-sounding melody. But it’s a medley of sorts: at about 6.30, they imply a faster tempo, at 6.50 they hint at another tune, and at around 7.20 Lovano and Frisell essay Cabala / Drum Music by Paul Motian. Perhaps Sorey’s drumming between 7.00 and 7.20 is the Drum Music intro to the Cabala melody?

As Joaquim said, it’s track 3 (not 2) that is Bill Frisell’s Valentine. Joaquim: any more titles?

Track 10 is Paul Motian’s Dance. I was there for the second night, and I suspect there were other tunes by Motian played; e.g. Track 8.

A very Paul Motian vibe hangs over both evenings. What a band!

Tyshawn Sorey seems to be getting a lot of attention at the moment-deservedly so -he is an interesting musician. Thank you for this music.
