Tony Oxley’s early playing with the likes of John McLaughlin, Tomasz Stanko, and accompanying all those great American musicians who played at Ronnie Scott’s club, marked him out as a marvellous technically accomplished drummer but he showed immense determination and bravery plowing his avant grade furrow playing very uncommercial music, with musicians like Evan Parker and Cecil Taylor. Tony will be missed. R.I.P. Tony Oxley.
